Cannon copier CLC 950 error code 014

I have an older Cannon color copier it worked fine until this morning. It powers up but will not copy and displays error code 014. Has anyone seen this before?

The following is directly out of the manual:

        Cause:
The fixing motor (M5) is faulty
The fixing motor drive system is subjected to an overload.
The DC driver PCB is faulty.
        The CPU PCB is faulty.

        Possible fix:
0000 The motor lock signal (FXMLK) is "0" for 1 sec or more while the fixing motor is rotating. Check to see that the fixing motor is turning as required.

          Fixing drive error

The self diagnostic has failed to see proper rotation of the fixing assembly. It is likely that it is jammed up by something. The likely problem is teh web which is the white cloth which helps to lubricate evenly the uppper fixing roller.

          Hope this helps

Web belts have caused many different problems in machines that use them, Xerox, canon, etc. Check the belt to see if it is tracking straight and not binding.
