I think you need to clarify the code. Get the exact number of zeros and include any dashes. it should read more like 00000010-000, or 00000001-000. It makes a big difference.
Is the glass half full or half empty? I say neither. The glass is obviously full, full of potential. The potential to hold more water or the potential to quench a thirst. Life is all about how you see it.
Canon IR5000, Can someone help with error e0000010000.
It then says 'switch off and on'.
Any info would be appreciated.
Most likey if its a E000001-0000 then its the thermistors. Replaced them or clean them. These parts are in the fixing ass'y. You must clear the error in svc mode.
Try resetting the code first. I usually get the customer to try this over the phone, most are willing to help & it saves a wasted trip for a 5 second reset!
I have found that the larger portion of these, 90/95% of the time, are fixed simply by the error reset procedure. If you feel confident in your customer doing this while you coach them over the phone, you have saved the both of you the time it would take for you to get there. The 5/10% that do not respond to the clear procedure are really in need of some thermistor service.
As a general rule, I replace both of the thermistors on my rebuilds,, this may give me my higher rating of "copier brain farts" that can be reset than some other people may be experiencing.

I would be careful about letting a customer into service mode. I've had
customers do it without calling and really cause trouble.
Sure you will save your self a trip. But you also, with a time and material
customer, lose service revenue. With the contract customer, if they
accidently clear the wrong item or get curious it could cost you time and
and money.
It all depends on the level of competence of your customer. And only you
can make that judgement.
