    ir1600 network print issue

Hi again to all pro tech. Here i got a machine ir1600 and i wish to print from many computers and im not sure the way and which way to use.

is it just plugin the parrallel or usb cable to one of the computer and share printer sharing?
Or should we upgrade to N for network print and how does it work ?

The USB and Parallel ports can be used for printing which you could then share over your network from a PC, but you need an optional accessory installed. It is the Printer Board-N1 according to another thread. If you want to be able to connect the copier directly into the network you'll need the ethernet NIC. I don't know if you still need Printer Board-N1 if you wish to print over ethernet or not. The Ethernet Board is probably part of a kit that includes something else that is also required for networking.

You'll almost certainly need to get hold of sst and system software and update the copier as well so that the copier recognises the extra hardware installed.

If you network the copier, it may have pull scanning (send request to scan from PC to scan documents), which while not as good as push scanning (initiate scanning from copier and send to PC) can be quite useful.

Personally I would recommend installing a NIC over connecting it to a PC and sharing it over the network that way. If you install a NIC you can connect over the network to it from your server and share it that way.

Really, I've been guessing to an extent. I'd try and get hold of the service manual for the network board for the copier. It should tell you everything you need to do to network it.
