Canon IR 4570

I have a customer who was donated a Canon IR 4570. My experience is with Mita and Ricoh copiers 25 years. I've looked over the spects on this copier and parts needed. Is it a fairly reliable copier? Can I download the service manual? Where? Any tips on service issues with this copier. My customer is asking if I'd put it under a maintenace contract. I'd like to get my ducks in a row before I commit to this venture.

The iR4570 for the most part is a pretty reliable copier. As far as putting the machine under contract, I myself have always worked for either the manufacturer,,, or the last 3 jobs have all been with certified dealers of the Canon product line. I would not want to take the responsibility of having to work on another line of copiers, without the benefit of proper training on those boxes. Some will argue that a copier is a copier, but that idea falls flat if you are trying to be the best you can be in your profession.

They CAN be a reliable box for the most part but wait til you try troubleshooting 0107/0201 jamcodes....for the 4570 you would need to stock ALL the mod parts...for the dev/hopper assy and the right lower door assy and if this is the only Canon box(or iR4570) that you'll be handling it won't be cost effective to put it under a service agreement IMHO.
