    Canon ir 1510 help!

I have a canon ir 1510 which after a paper jam is now showing check drum/toner crg, I've removed dev and drum unit all contacts look to be correct but the dev unit is always difficult to install. Any help not well up on canon.

first thing. does it actually need a cart. Because it will jam when it runs out, or show a jam. Once you clear up the message, replace the drum etc it will work. So how many copies are on the drum?

It could be a sensor under the scanner assy.

Rotate the machine so u face it from behind. Remove the orginal cover and small plastic under it (next to the leg holes of cover). Slide it to the right slowly and u should see and small sensor in the middle witch detects IF door are closed.

99% I am assured that sensor has been shifted from its natural position.

Open the toner cover. There is a sensor arm to the left side of the toner cartridge(you will see it move upwards when closing the toner cover). If the toner cartridge is not in the correct position the sensor arm moves to far, causing the check drum/toner crg message.
