Canon IR2018 as a network scanner

Hello,

I installed a canon IR2018 in my network . I did with it printing on network with software that come with this Canon.
I installed also Netgear Scanner but I can not manage with scan..
When I press the SCAN button , it appears SCAN MODE on the display.
Net utility indicates correctly that this canon 2018 is rready for scan.
What should i make ?

You should have another software for scanning. You can use Adobe or whatsoever. I am using CutePdf Professional.

On my computer appears only canonir2018 printer,..not scanner icon.
Is it correctly ?

You cannot see the Scan icon in the Printer and Faxes window.

If your Network Scangear software detects the scanner of your machine which is the IR2018 so you're ready to scan.

But the Scangear software is not capable for scanning. It needs additional software like Adobe or Windows scanner program in order for you to scan.

I will recommend to use CutePdf Professional. Give me your email add I will send it to you.

I have a similar problem with Canon IR2018, I have installed Scangear Tool and the the settings should be ok (manually added IP address). At least when I press "Test Connection" in Scangear Tool, it says: "The selected scanner is available for scanning."
But, if I press "Scan" from scanner control panel and switch it from "Offline" to "Online" from the touch screen, then the selection stays on display and nothing happens. Tried to press the "Start" button but it doesn't work and I can't get further from this point. Actually the green led even doesn't burn.
Maybe some settings are wrong or I'm just missing something? I'd be very greatful if someone helps me with this "case", cause I must admit, I'm in trouble with this.

Actually I got it working with Scangear, but my efforts where unnecessary. Question is now, how to scan and email with this device?

Hi.
This scanner work directly in application.
You can scanning in word.
If you have office 2003 procedure is:
1.Open word
2.Insert from scanner or camera
3.insert picture
If you have office 2007 or 2010 scaning go to macro
