    Gp605 cannot boot up

MY FRIEND THIS IS MY GP605 CANNOT ON. I MEAN THE MACHINE CANNOT BOOT UP.
FOR YOUR CLUE, THE SCREEN IS ON BUT THE MACHINE NOT START AT ALL.NO MESSAGE ON SCREEN ONLY THE LCD LIGHT TURNS ON.

I HAVE TRIED CHANGE THE POWER SUPPLY PCB, THE I/O PCB, THE IPU PCB AND ALSO THE CONTROL PENAL FROM KNOWN GOOD MACHINE. I CHANGE THIS PARTS ONE BY ONE TO IDENTIFY WHICH ONE PARTS IS FAULTY.

UNFORTUNATELLY I STILL CANNOT SOLVED THE PROBLEM.

    IF ANYONE CAN HELP?REALLY APPRICIATED.

    THANKS.

You state that there is nothing on the screen?

You state that there is nothing on the screen, not even the Canon progress bar? If that is the case I advise you to try swapping the boot rom with your other copier to see if that will get you going. Initially, all activity occurs from info stored on the boot rom, including the progress bar and logo.

I have check on my service manual but the things I not found.

          1.Remove hhd. in MFC
          2.Fotmat on the windows.
          3.Put back

            Hello petrus,
Please disregard my message from yesterday, I was mistaken about the boot rom, I was thinking the of copier in terms of the iR5000, and had forgotten how different the iR600 was from that machine. You are correct in that there is no boot rom to be found, sorry. You said you had the manual,, so I would suggest looking at the loss of DC power as a starting point.

It sounds like the machine is in download mode. Remove the cover for the primary corona and above the corona you will see a parallel printer connector, this is used for flashing the machine not a printer port. I can't remember exactly where but somewhere around that connector is a small switch, one direction says download and the other I think says copy, you need the switch set opposite of download.

                          d mode

is possible but display would read "download mode" on later canons it does and you access by key sequence on cnt pnl j

This machine is not like the later models. It does not display download mode and download mode is not accessed from the control panel.
