    iR6570 E732/E733/E002

Hi, I have a machine with about 1.5mil copies on it that randomly will display an E002 code. Each time the E002 shuts the machine down there is first an E733-0001 and then an E732-0001 in the error log just before the E002. I have checked the fuser, thermistors, etc. And the fuser has been rebuilt within the last 6 months. Any ideas?

Check the fuser plug thats mounted on the back of the unit. I seen them broke before. Also I think that the E733 code is a communication error code, check the network connection, the fiery cables if it has one cycle everything off then on again fiery included. Check all of the cables even for the scanner to the main unit.

Especially the reader unit cable. I'd start with thermistors...they are known to be flaky on these units with induction heating...i change them at a million. Also make sure the pressure roll bearing isnt shot. They don't last more than about 300k then they seize and the inner race turns on the shaft and drops filings causing shorts to fuser bias and weird stuff...kinda like putting the upper fuser roll plastic collar on backwards on a 105

Definately replace the thermistors. I would also check the lower roller bearings, These are always seizing up. I have seen them cause this problem many times. Sometimes you can see all the brown dust on the duplex cover.

          Check,
MULTICAST DISCOVERY, If you keep having communication errors.
Additional Functions>System setings> Network settings>TCP/IP settings>Multicast discovery. It should be off.

For the bearings is use loctite. I glue the bearing to the shaft of the pressure rolller, works like a charm.

Also for E002- check the fixing ass'y connector and rear connector for jammed paper.

The thermistors, lower bearings, upper roller and press roller have all been replaced within the last 6 months. I will check the multicast discovery and the connector.

Something else that is strange is that there is no sub code for the E002 code other than 0010. Which is just that the machine has been restarted without the code being reset. I would think there would be something else under the first E002 where the comm errors are.

            Thanks
            Andy

Since the power-off/on operation was repeated without resetting a fixing temperature control error, the error code "732" or "E733" was displayed.
              - E732 can be displayed when a reader communication error occurs.
              - E733 can be displayed when a printer communication error occurs.

This is why you also get the E732&733 codes.
Check those areas that I mention before.
