How long have you had the machine? To remove DepID there should be a PWD-CLR option in service mode, possibly under Copier > Function > Clear. Check the Service Manual for Details.

If this is not your machine ask someone whether somebody set up DepID on the copier. If so, get them to enter the System Manager DepID and password for you (if they won't tell you what it is).

DepID allows tracking of jobs to different Departments or Clients. It's useful for billing clients for copying or tracking costs.

      Thanks for your advise.
It's mine and I have had this copier for three months.
I cleared Password in service mode ( Follow your advise )
it's work . but when i turned off the copier and turn on
(Turn off in the evening and turn on in the morning )
the copier show the message to fill dept id and password again.
And everythings that i've set up to copier disappear.

I hope you will understand me.
( My English skill not good )

      Thank you very much.

Sounds like you need a new battery on your main controller PCB. After a while the battery will die and when the machine powers down it loses the information and goes back to default. You can order the battery from a Canon dealer if you want to replace it yourself. The part number is WK1-5148-000. I just not sure how it goes in, they used to need to be soldered in, but that was on the older machines. I would have someone qualified do it unless you are comfortable doing it yourself.
Is the glass half full or half empty? I say neither. The glass is obviously full, full of potential. The potential to hold more water or the potential to quench a thirst. Life is all about how you see it.

PWD-CLR clears the password....re-boot machine and go into additional functions, dept id management, etc and turn off dept ids
