IR2880

Having big problems with a IR2880, problem is the waste toner bottle was replaced and now the machine keeps asking for the bottle to be fitted.
Checked and cleaned sensor and also tryed another bottle i hope some can help.

Thats the C2880? You cleaned PS11 at the auger opening? If PS11 is clean and it says there is no bottle I would think its the DC controller. PS11 is located behind the back hopper drive assembly.

Thanks 20yrsexp i did not know that there was another sensor for waste toner function, the ps11 must be on the right handside of the frame assy

Here is that lcoation for PS11.
The sensor PS11 is located at the auger opening that might have toner dust on it or is malfunctioning. Verify the position of the PS11 and the auger open close shutter and replace the PS11 consequently.

Do you have a service manual? You might want to refer to it. I think that PS11 may be located on the process frame assembly under the hopper drive assembly.

As indicated by SCREWTAPE its just above the spring on the waste toner feed screw, I've had this problem, theses machines get dirty round this area.
