Able to use an ir105 as a fax machine?

    Hello,

We've got 3 ir105s and 2 CLC3220s (all with EFI Fiery's) but we also send a lot of faxes on a tiny, awful, slow fax machine that only holds about 5 pages.

Seeing as our Canon's are high end machines, is there a way to use one of them to send faxes instead?

Would we have to buy any additional hardware, or is it purely a software thing?

    Many thanks in advance..

Do you see an input for a fax line on one of the sides of the copier? If not, you need to buy additional hardware. If yes then you should have fax firmware installed on the copier or you would get an error message.

CLC3220 requires Super G3 Fax Board M2. Could not find any mention of faxing capability on the IR105 so it may not have it.

If you do get a fax card installed keep the little fax as a reserve to swap in for when the copier breaks down or put fax boards on two copiers.

If the fiery can somehow be used for faxing there should be information in its manual that says so but I don't think it's likely.

It would be ideal to put faxing on a B&W copier but it doesn't look like you have this option. Consult the IR105 manuals to make sure.

      105 does not support fax.
      3220 however does support.
Its hardware that's needed for fax function.
