    C1+

From what I have read the C1 is now coming out with a "clear" toner in one of its blank spaces on the dev cylinder(it has 2 extra) but nowhere to put the "clear toner" unless they have redone the toner tray.

I dont know of any other copier in this size that would have this feature.
    Coated 2 sided duplex?
It would have to pass the color first then back thru to "finish" clear?

2 sided would take a long time but wow?
As much as I have trashed the C1 for failing too soon when it was working and you could get a decent color match ..it was very good.

And the thing that canon did not really tell anyone was it can handle thick stock.

I would like to hear from anyone here about this if this is going to happen.

    Thanks guys

You would have to use the Clear Coat Form Composition mode.
The Clear Coat Form Composition mode enables you to superimpose a previously scanned image as a clear image, which has been stored in the hard disk of the machine (image form), on the pre printed paper. Each toner (black, cyan, magenta, or yellow) is not used, only the clear toner is used for this mode.

To use the Clear Coat Form Composition mode, the image form must be stored in the machine beforehand.

lt is recommended that you scan the image form in Black and White mode. You can also select an image form scanned in the Auto-Color Select mode or Full Color mode. However, if you select the image form scanned in the Auto-Color Select mode or Full Color mode and use it as the clear image, color sections of the clear image except for black sections may become lighter or not be printed.

Up to 100 image forms can be stored. However, this number varies depending on the free space of the hard disk.

Printing performance may not be optimal in the Clear Coat Form Composition mode, depending on the selected document and image form.

    1. Load the pre printed paper into a paper source.

    2. Select the Loaded preprinted paper.

    3.Press [Clear Coat Form Comp.].

    4. Press [Settings] for the side you want to superimpose.
To superimpose a different image on both sides of a sheet, it is necessary to set the 2-Sided mode. To superimpose the same image on both sides of the sheet, specify the settings for the front side > press [Same as Front Side]

5.Select the image form to be superimposed over the original press OK.
To check the images stored as forms, press [preview].
To print a sample of the images stored as forms, Press [Check Print]
image forms stored in the RGB color format are indicated with a icon. image forms stored in the CMYK color format are indicated with a icon. (Color image forms are indicated with a color icon.)
Press [Details] to display the detailed information of the image form.
The Image form you can use is only one page. You can store an image form which contains multiple pages from the printer driver, but only the first page is used as an image form.
When [Preview] or [Check Print] is selected, the color mode selected in stored image form is applied.
lf [Check Print] is pressed: Select the paper size > press [Start Print].
    6.Press [Done].

    7. Press [Enter No. of Sheets] to specify the number of sheets to be coated.

    8. Press [Enter No. of Copies] to specify the number of copies to be coated.

    9. If necessary, specity the Finishing mode settings.

    10.Press [Start Coating].

The C1+ has been modified, but the client must request the clear toner option.

      Thus Watermarking could be used.
I wonder how hard it would be to convert a C1 to a C1+
the toner rack assy and software?
Hey on a refresh using the "starter" for each color.

I have done this in other mach's but did not see anything on this
      in the manuals..........
