    Canon IRC3100 E020-0081

E020-0081. Just wanna confirm with Canon gurus, is this the sensor that is above the drum(below the transfer belt)?
Please correct me if I'm wrong.

Yeah the Patch Sensor is likely soiled with toner. It is the sensor above the drum and under the transfer belt.

Use a damp cloth to clean the sensor.

If this error happens often might be worth at replacing the developers as they are what cause the toner mist in the machine.

    Hope this helps.

have seen this many times. just clean sensor and you should be good. i have had a few that required replacing. unfortunatly, replacing is a project do to the fact you must remove transfer belt assembly. good luck
