    Ir400s e805-006

Has anyone had this issue before? I checked all the fuses on the DC controller and they are all good. Reset error code and it still comes back. Sub code 6, is the laser cooling fan 2, FM6. Fan is not coming on. I ordered the fan, but I doubt it will be that easy. E805 codes are never that easy. Any information will be appreciated.

Try it out. If its referring to the fan 9 times out of ten it would be. the most important thing is that the fuses on the DC are good.

      just a thought...

I can't recall, is there a filter in front of this fan? I just had an 804 code yesterday on a CLC1180, and the FM5 fan when removed from the copier, still plugged in, did not error out. Back in machine, bingo, errored out. Constricted airflow thru the fan by a dirty filter was slowing down the fan to the failure point.

Thanks for the memory jog Mitsubee , I have seen one of the two fans on that exit side in the fuser door come out of place and was prevented from turning, causing the code.

It's the fan on the left drum rail. Trust me, I've changed several. That is one of the laser fans. The sub code 006 refers to that fan which is FM6. Part # FH6-1488-000

That is the fan that I ordered (FH6-1488-000). I will replace it and let you know. Thank you very much.

Well Brian8506 you were right. I replaced the fan for the laser on the drum rail and that fixed it. I have never had to replace that fan before. Thanks
