    IR6000 dog ear

M/c has finisher. Problem is unable to sort due to paper giving dog ears(as shown in pic, hope not to small for gurus to see).
Single side copies only. When removed finisher, the problem is gone. Is there any bulletin regarding this problem?
Or some of the gurus might give some tips that might have encounter this problem before?
2 of my friends machines is giving the same problem. I'm just trying to lend a hand here.

I saw this just this morning on a 5000, I thought it was the punch not getting to home position, but alas, I was mistaken. What I found was when I lifted the top cover, then #1 & #2 green levers, that the black guide just past the straight thru area, the raised fin on the bottom guide had a chunk missing out of it. You could hear the copies running into it as they passed through the finisher. Mine was the last one toward the front that the paper runs over the top of. I took out my trusty knife and cut the remainder of that rib off of the guide... Problem solved.

        Good luck

                  Hi Copygirl,
Your possible problem area resides in the copier, while what I found was a problem in the finisher, almost at the exit area. There is a black plastic lower guide, just to the left of the steel plate guide of the finisher straight thru area. It was the second rib from the front of the finisher that I felt the snag on. At first I thought it was a staple till I shone a flashlight on it.

                    Hi
Ok. Mine was in the fuser area exit.
Hard to explain but this can cause a problem.
