    Canon IR3300 hangs up

    Hi!
I have problem with my Canon IR3300. When i start it up its works fine, but for some period it's simply hang's up.
I check my copier and notice that hdd is always running regardless of mode - it's that normal?

Can you tell me what is reason for my problem?

The hard drive first, yes, it runs all the time, anytime the main power switch is turned on, the disk is spinning.

Simply hangs up is not enough information. Is the display lit? Is it in power saver mode? Is the green light on on the control panel? Are there any error codes?

You will need to supply more information, like what you have done for this problem to receive some better answers...

      Hi mrfixit51!
Ther is no error mesages - nothing unusual - starts and run fine. But for some period copier get slower and slower, like it's overheat somhow. I check fan - works fine.

By slower and slower do you mean that if you print a large job the speed of printing slows down? Or using the menus on the copier or what? Does it speed up again after slowing down at all?

If the display goes to sleep from not being used adjust the Auto Sleep Time:

Additional Functions > Timer Settings > Change Auto Sleep Time.

Btw how long have you had your problem and how long is it since the hard drive was last changed?

Do you know how to replace the hard disk? It involves a bit of work and is advisable to get a tech to do. There's quite a few things you need to know to get a hard drive working in the IR3300 not just take out the old drive and put in the new.

Your still not being specific enough to determine what needs to be done to fix your copier e.g is a hard drive replacement necessary.

Sorry for late answer but our company's web security dont alow use forums at work.

Problem appers when i got error mesage e000007-0000 and repalce fuser unit from another ir3300. From start all works fine, but for some idle time copier hangs up. When i restart copier its load up about 1,5 minutes (usually this takes max 30 sek.) Simptoms its more like processor or hdd overload or overheat or somting. Hdd is in normal temperature and fan is working well. I think maybe i need reinstall or upgrade copiers operating system.

          Sorry for my bad english!

A couple of things I get from your description, first, as bnmand stated, you may have a hard drive issue. I have seen copiers boot up, work o.k. for awhile, and then start to be slow in response to fax printing, print jobs, copy jobs initiated at the panel. The panel appears to look normal, but the machine is slow to respond to any screen/button press. Is that what you are seeing? This is caused by the hard drive continually reseeking sectors trying to read/write data, on a platter that has flakey magnetic qualities. If so, replace hard drive and reload system software. Make sure to back up your fax address books first.

You also mentioned a swapped in fuser assembly. You may have cured the original E007 with that part, but introduced a new problem. In that case I would replace the fixing film assembly instead of the entire fuser. A film assembly that could not maintain correct temp could in theory slow up the copier.

As to your English, no apologies needed. I've been here forever, and I have problems with it
