Error 748-4894

afternoon I ran into an issue with an IRC 5185, it has a black screen schowing error code E748-4894. I assume that since its a 700 code its a communication error, but the sub code I am not sure of tried to go into service mode but I cant. Looked into the manual found nothing for the sub-code, thank you for any help you guys can offer

Havent seen anything on that sub code.Try pulling the fixing deck out and booting the machine up.If it boots up okay and you push the unit back in and it codes then the fxing assy is causing the E748.Reseat all boards and making sure all your subs are pushed in and have good connections.

well the machine has beed down for a while we removed it to give an end user a new and it has been moved around a few times, other that that I am not sure I was not responsible for the move and was not present. I will open the side door and try to boot and see if it had anything to do with the Fixing unit and i will also reseat the Sub Boards hope this helps to fix the issue thank you for you help will keep you posted. if it works or not

sorry took so long to get back nothing changed the copier didnt boot up when I opened the Fixing Unit.

Looks like it may be time for a main controller.Sorry i dont have better news than that.

it will be one of the sub(i.e sa,pr,rb-a etc) mn cont in the main box....

True.But once you get into the 4xxx sub codes,it looks like the controller is the one thing that keeps coming up.This is one of those strange codes that until you swap boards you wont know what is causing it.

Ok thanks guys I have a new Main Con I am goin to pop it in and see what heppens think I also have a SUB Main Con board also will play with that and lets see what happens, will keep you posted to my results.
