Canon NP 6317 Document Feeder

I have a canon NP 6317 phocopier.When you place a document on the ADF it indicates that there is document on the ADF and when you press the print key the document is moved partly to the registration then it indicates document jam.

Do the pick up tyres continue to move once the jam is indicated? if they do it could be the DF PSU
