Do a search of the forums and you will find a multitude of threads and posts for that code.So much so that you will be overwhelmed with information.

ok Guys this is where I am at, I have been looking at the notepad file for the hard drives and there is no setting for any hitachi drive,

where as I cannot edit the settings to accommodate this drive.

How do I go about adding this?

any help will be greatly appreciated.

The drive model I am trying to add is

        HITACHI
        Model: IC25N040ATCS05-0

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

HDS722540VLAT20 is listed in my .ift file, this is a Hitachi drive. Here is what I would do: first, save your original .ift file somewhere safe, copy the entire entry for that HDS722540VLAT20 drive, highlight something cheesy like the Exelstore drive, paste it over that drive description, and edit it now to show your model number IC25N040ATCS05-0 over the the HDS722540VLAT20 entry. Make sure the file structure looks like it used to, no extra spaces or gaps. Save the file. try it. That is how I did it in the past.

Like mrfixit51 said...dont look to replace any files...just add to them. Just include the drive you have.

I have gone through my .ift file and no listing of any hitachi found, I would be greatful if you would copy and paste me the entry, I have figure out most of what is taking place but, adding a drive that is not listed, is where I need some help.

                Thanks in advance
