Canon IR550 Error 001

I have a Canon Imagerunner 550 that shut down automatically this afternoon and displays an E001 Error. I have tried to go into the Service Mode to clear it with no luck. What am I supposed to do to clear this error? The machine keeps turning off evertime I get to service mode. HELP!! Have a whole bunch of docs to copy and can't get the machine to stay on.

E001 Fuser Code

That is a fuser error.That is why it won't reset. Check continuity on your lamps.Then check the thermal fuse. If neither one is bad it's probably the thermistor.You can check the resistance on the thermistor, then put your finger on the face of the thermistor to see if the resistance changes state. I usually put my finger on and off a few times to see the resistance go up and down.A board might be a posability, but I doubt it.
