i think the clc5100 is a reincarnation of the (horrible)clc1000 - over here is was the 1000,1000s,4000,5000 and then 5100 and it is a pig to work on......
what do your pg 5s look like? Seems that the image fault is more with k and m. I once had a transfer selenoid lock up from starter- every colour after the transfer in question was affected. Also I found that the corona assemblies before the fuser can cause many image faults as well, as they often get caked badly.
All drums,blades,primary,grids,developer have been replaced.
I've tried putting the whole laser ass'y from a working CLC and I
get E61 and E100. Here is a PG5. Fuser section is fine.
It looks like a digital defect of some sort,, have you tried reseating/swapping ram in this puppy? Never trained on CLC1000 series, only got to see them when a coworker went on vacation, many years ago. I recall how the paper travel acrossed under the 4 drums on a transport belt, and I can't see this defect coming from below. This is some kind of "written" image defect. That is why I suggest ram... time will tell.

When I change the laser unit and video controller, the machine seems to not want too accept the laser unit. It gives me a E61 and a E100. Its mostly black and yellow that seems to be the problem, but again it will not accept those lasers. The difference between the other laser unit are the ribbon cables.
