    Any help is greatly appreciated.

    Hi all,

Allow me to say thanks in advance.
My office recently purchased an iR 4570 with Universal Send Kit, the setting for normal print and scan is working fine.

The only problem is that i am clueless on how to set up the network setting for the basic send function, E-mail and I-fax (sntp or smb or ftp or smtp or pop and others......).

I have read the reference guide book and still very much confused.
    1. How does the send function actually work?
    2. Is it possible to set the send function on one-to-one basis (single laptop or pc to copier)?
    3. Does the send function require ISP or broadband connection? or can it work on local network?

Thank you all once again for any help provided.

SMTP is for emailing, most people use SMB. To set up either machine, it needs first a IP address. You do not need a ISP to do SMB. For emailing you need a SMTP server or a third party email carrier. For starters you should try setting up your laptop so that you get the concept. Let's start with SMB.
Go to address book setting in additional functions, register, pick file, windows SMB and hit browse and see if you see the contents of your laptop. Once you notice what pops up, then set up a folder on you C: drive and call it Scans for now. Go back and browse you should see that folder you just created, that's going to be your file path. Username and password is require when setting up SMB

    Host: laptop or workstation.
    File path:\\Scans
    Username:
    Password:

Browsing is the easiest way to accomplish this task.
    Goodluck.
