Need some advice please.

Have the above machine giving me e007's..... - fixing belt error

I have replaced the drive gear (FU6-0646-000)
that meshes with the fixing roller and adjusted it so it sits against the teeth for a better drive.

This has lasted for about 3-4 weeks but its keeps coming back in.

any ideas, the m/c has done about 170k.

Ck the belt path and make sure it follows the side guides
to much on one side can give you the error
it has to be centered.

Belt has to be centred for it to be reset but what i'm saying is why does the drive gear drop out of position which causes the clicking noise and error codes e0007....

There is a QA kit for the fuser unit, I found it best to rebuild the fuser with the QA kit.

QA kit - i presume its a pm kit? sorry never heard of it called a QA kit before.

I spoke to canon yesterday and the tech said replace the whole of the fixing belt assembly - so i've ordered the unit and gear but im still confused as to why the drive gear would disengage from the hot roller. Canon rep said he had the same problem and he replaced the unit and no more problems, so fingers crossed

I'll post the results after a couple of weeks.
