    Quick On and Off

I have a Ir105. It had a E065 code on. I restrung the wires first-NG. Then replaced the Primary corona assembly-NG. Ordered and replaced the HVT/DC-Yippee. Ok that was short lived. They called today telling me that the unit was acting strange, turning on then off repeatedly. I checked the wall voltage-Good, started to check the 24V on the Relay PCB. On the DC Relay 2 of the 24V lines were only giving me 10V. Surprisingly the unit powered back up. I noticed an E602-001. Turn off the unit to put all the accessories back on and you guessed it. It started to turn on and off again. I ordered a hard drive and relay board. Anyone else ever see this???
Oh before anyone asked I already eliminated the finisher and DADF. They were taken away before I started any serious testing.

E 065 can be caused by the lower fuser roll bearings wearing down and causing small metal filings to work their way to the process area. Here it starts to mix with stray toner and dust. Once had to remove the entire tray and clean, vacuum under the transport assembly. Only then did the e065 code finally stay away. Still had to change corona aseemblies and hvt-drum and blade were scratched. Clean the entire ap kit and the transport section first.

Check the manual feed tray door micro switch. It is part of the 24v safety system. If it is faulty it can cause that. Keep in mind, anything on that 24 volt circuit can possible cause this. 24 volts cuts to the HVT and no charge. Look for pinched wires, try cutting wire ties to the HVT PCB. It sometimes helps to massage the wires where the tie was. then re-tie with new ties... just not as tight as Canon does.
Is the glass half full or half empty? I say neither. The glass is obviously full, full of potential. The potential to hold more water or the potential to quench a thirst. Life is all about how you see it.
