we import our machines from europe countries and recondition them for rental to our local customers, most of the copiers we recieve still have the previous user configuration, settings and print log history.I think this information should atleast be removed before they are delivered to the next customer. and the cycle goes on when we collect back the copier.
I would suggest that for the machines that come from Europe, a good practice might be to format the hard drives and reload the latest system software. Most of these machines, like most of my own, have the original build software versions on them. This washes everything clean except the copy counter, and you would be assured of a fresh start. As to your internal transfer machines, that have already been restored once, then a clear procedure would be a good option. Screwtape may be able to shed some light on that...

screwtape - what ways bar the 'big' one? we had demo machine's go out and the customer thinks we are sticking them with previous billings but bar dumping everything i cant clear it??
^^^^ pretty much as is factory mode - have known people to do serious damage in level 3 i.e license removal and in factory mode mode stuff up a brand new machine.......
