    Canon IR2200

One of my customers has a Canon IR2200 and the copies keep coming out light and faded. I've put in a new drum and that worked fine for a couple of days but they are still getting the light/faded copies. Can anyone help out on this?

    Thanks

Did you run the DPC-Gamma after replacing the drum?Should have been a sheet in the box with the drum(if from Canon).

He told me that nothing was included in the box. Is there somewhere I can find the information w/o having to reorder a new drum unit? If not I guess I will have to.

I beleive you need to have paper in tray 2 for that procedure as that's where it draws it from.

You try all the above suggestions , yet the same problem exists, you check the toner. Fully clean the developper unit with the help of a vaccum cleaner / blower and add fresh toner then you check.

                good luck..........................

I'd be looking at the Dev unit, making sure that the contacts at the rear of the unit are nice and clean...
Turn the cylinder by hand and see what the coverage on the cylinder is like...any faded areas on the cylinder and you've found the culprit.
After market toner can cause this issue.
I've also seen faded copies come from a faulty DC Controller on the 2200's...rare but it happens.
And like Scewtape mentioned...sometimes either the bushings for the transfer roller collapse or the rubber coating of the roller goes hard and it needs to be replaced.
