Download the Canon Network ScanGear Tool (don't get the colour version) from the Canon Website. The manual is in the download. If you can print over your network then you can scan using the Canon Network ScanGear Tool. This is pull scanning using a TWAIN scanner driver.

Once you've configured the Tool, You have to go to the copier and press the Options button (to the right of Copy, Fax and Mailbox) and then press Online. Then go back to computer and scan the file in. Once you're finished turn the scanning offline again so you can use the copier to photocopy again.

Hi, bnmand, You have been silence for quite sometime, how are you?
I am posting this question is because I cannot see the "Online" on the screen.
It show something like "Require optional accessories". (I will read the exact message tomorrow.) This machine is at my client office. Can tell you tomorrow evening.
      Thanks for your reply.

It says that it requires optional accessories because you need the N Boot-ROM installed, the NIC Installed and the firmware upgraded to networked version. That should have been obvious.

The Canon Network ScanGear Tool only works over the NIC which I believe should be either mentioned in the manual or obvious by reading it.

To use the Network ScanGear Tool, on the copier in Service Mode, COPIER > OPTION > USER > NW-SCAN should be set to 1. This should be enabled by default when the NIC is in the machine and networked firmware is installed.

It is part of the Canon Network Multi-PDL Printer Kit C1.

Here is what the NIC and the Boot-ROM look like

ymsheen sells the kit on eBay for about $100USD including postage. Postage varies depending on your location. There should be plenty of other places to ge the kit, but this was the cheapest I could find when I was looking to buy.

you need a new firmware = bootrom (the chip)
you need a hard disk with printer software or upgraded to N series
              you need a ethernet board
