    Canon IRC 5185 - Error Code E000008-0001

I am having some trouble with our Canon IRC 5185. It will run fine for a while and then it will throw the "Shut Down" screen with the following error code "E000008-0001". Anyone know what the code is for or how to stop this from happening? I can't find anything on that code.

It happens inconsitently at best and doesn't seem to be tied to any specific type of printing or media.

    thanks.

That sounds like it is not a small fix or error.

I am a bit of novice with this machine and don't really understand how to get to the menu to check the counter check for the fixing unit itself. As far as copies on the machine..it is no where near that quantity yet.

Find a authorized Canon dealer and have a tech look at it.
I'm sure there some out there by you. It might be an expensive
              service call.
              Good luck.

This is not a user serviceable item, requires intervention by a trained tech. If we start having you get into service mode and reset things, your life might get very interesting... turn it over to a professional...

                Have a good one!

I thought this site was for professionals we can't just let end users be mucking around in service mode.

                      Good luck keeping them out...
So far I've been abused and threatened with legal action from an end user who got uppity because I wouldn't tell her how to change an iR2200 drum...and within the past couple of days Mr.Fixit was told that HE was "unhelpful" by someone who clearly has no idea which end of a screwdriver to use(although they state that they are indeed a tech).

I have 26 years in thus business and have been a service mgr. a couple of times. What kind of problems will we have if some one gets hurt or worse yet a machine catches fire ,what will happen then .
