    Ticking timebomb...!!!!

    ARRGGHH...
    I have two ir5055 side by side to each other.
    Neither of them have a doc feed installed although they do have a scanner.
    We had a call to empty waste toner as there was a message on the screen.
    Emptied the waste toner...went into COPIER>COUNTER>MISC to clear the waste toner counter and noticed that neither machine have a counter for the waste toner.
    We've cleared DC,MCont and MMI all to no avail....system software has been flashed to the latest version....also...the machines will spit out any internal print you like...but the WILL NOT churn out a P-Print.
    Also...during system software upgrade it was skipping RCON every time....any ideas?
    The message is still on the screen so it's just a matter of time til I get the call for E019 x2

      Hi,
      Similar problem has solved memory replacement
      Hardworking people are not present. Simply many it is boring to idle.

          My suggestion would be to call the bomb squad. Actually sounds like you flashed the machine with old/wrong software. Latest should be version 52.01. Make sure you are flashing with 5075 series not 5570. Also, the RCON is different from 5050/5570 to 5075. I honestly didn't think that these models could come with platen scanning only. Never seen one and none of pre-sales info mentions it. Hmmm....

              The latest news is that Canon Australia were able to reproduce the error so it's now been escalated to Canon Japan...til now they weren't aware that the fault even existed.
              These machines were shipped to us with a DADF but,on customer's request,they were removed...locked inside a box only to be used as printer units.

                      Yep...pulled off the ADF and BLAM...no waste toner counter..
                      So our work around will now be to go to the machines with an ADF and clear the counters then remove the ADF again

                          Dare I ask why the customers prefer not to have the ADF's installed? Is it a space issue or to limit the copy count? It's always a catch 21. Solve one issue and cause another. Just remember, we're learning.
