Does their print driver have the finishing options added?
right click the printer go properties>device settings>output options and add the finisher.
This takes 20 min or so but look in additional functions look for restore factory defaults. Ive seen this fix weird problems, just like flashing the firmware does, but it's easier. I can't remember if it blew out the network settings or not so I'd print out user data list for network settungs, and their address book for faxes before you do it.
Appreciate the feedback. Already looked there and the finisher was there.
MORE TO THE STORY: Now Canon says the 2230 cannot offset print jobs. Client says it did before we updated the system software (2230HD) after replacing the HDD (602 error). One of our techs claims it worked once for him. Soooooo - anybody have an iR2230 with a one tray S1 that can try printing an excell spreadsheet then a word document and see if they offset? Go/no-go responses will be appreciated.
I am starting to think that some how the latest system software lost that capability. Might try going back a version or two.
