I have no idea what an GP160 is(like a GP200?) but its definitly in your scan area. Check your lamp, CCD, scan motor, home position sensor or IP board. I've never replaced a CCD (But I have had a couple bad IP boards).
Try replacing the lamp, even if it comes on one of the 2 ends could be burned out. Check the white plate, it might be missing or fell out. Is the scanner even moving out of home position?
I think in copier>display you can get the CCD measurements.
From there I'd look at the ip or dc control boards. Reseat connectors or do DC clear or IP clear, then only as a last resort replace the ip board.
If its like a ir1023 check the connectors for the scanner or replace the CIS assy.
I just did a Google image search, and it looks like the IC2020....
Makes me shiver just to think of it... But yes, the issue is going to be scanner related.
