Can you give a little more info?
What jam code do you have?
Is the paper stopping at registration and the copier just "hangs" there, or actually register a jam?
If it's hanging you might not be waiting long enough for an E100 to show up.

      I have encountered similar problem.
First, I would clean the Transfer roller but this rarely help.
Most of the time it is remedied by changing the paper.
I observed that the paper recovered from the conveyor section, had its print missing about 1 inch away from its trailing edge

Can you elaborate on this "hang down the drum"?
"manual paper select", do you mean the manual feed tray (or by-pass, multi-feed depending on who you talk to)?
It's rare but I have seen those separation assy go bad. Check that its in all the way or not cracked open. Or just replace the assy FG6-0456-000.

If it's copying fine from the manual feed tray but jams from the cassette, I wouldn't focus too much on the paper path around registration.
I'd clean the feed tires, I've seen brand new ones jam. We use RG5-1834-000 sep tires on a blue hub instead of the ones on the OEM on the white hub.
Any more info would be appreciated.
