Legal margin cut off through feeder

The left margin is getting cut off when copying through the feeder on legal size. I attached a scan to show. I've tried to re-register and cannot seem to correct. Any ideas?

Is it registering the correct paper size? It almost looks like it thinks it has Letter. What is the model?
Is the glass half full or half empty? I say neither. The glass is obviously full, full of potential. The potential to hold more water or the potential to quench a thirst. Life is all about how you see it.

Also the line on going down the length is that on the copy or is it seeing the edge of the paper?

Boo on me I guess, my viewer says it is 11x17 not legal.

You're right, I didn't even check that. So that would be the edge of the original I see. Does 8.5x11 and ledger copy properly? And are the DF tray guides set to the correct width? Is this what the call was for or is it after work was done on the machine?

Machine is an IRC3170 (I know) . It feeds letter fine, tray guides are in correct position, no trays even set to 11x17. It will feed the paper about half way and stop, select legal and it doesn't register properly.

Check your connectors on the adf pcb. i had a machine in the shop that was doing the exact same thing this week and it was an unplugged connector. also run your initializations for LTR and LTRR in service mode. I believe they are under Feeder/adjust not sure the exact locale of the adjustment. If you need more detail on that i can post it when i get to the office.

I'm not that familiar with the 3170 feeder, but the width VR comes to mind from an older model. it hesitates because it doesn't recognize the paper size and takes a guess by the length. Could be way off here that was an old problem I'm thinking of.

Went back to customer and even replaced feeder. Machine is registering legal as 11x17 only through the feeder. Even when I try to override to register as legal it still copies and scans as 11x17. Anyone else have this problem?

You can try that. Also check in service mode,
                      Level 2/ Copier/ Option/ Body SENS-CNF 1
This is the default setting. If its 0 set it to 1.

If R-con was cleared the value will return to default 0.
