Your toner cartridge is not in properly !!!! Open the cover to fit the toner cartridge. Make sure the cartridge is turned fully anticlockwise. Their is a pertruding pin that needs to be in the correct position when you close the cover. If you are using generic toner the pin sometimes brakes off causing your problem!!!

You should also check that the drum unit / dev unit has not come apart from each other inside the machine and also check that the dev shutter is being activated when the toner cart is put into the machine and twisted into place.
