You might need a print controller board.

Not sure on this little guy,, but his bigger cousins need to have the parallel port enabled in the printer settings in order for that port to be able to be used as a printer interface,,, go thru the settings and look for parallel port enabling...

I just thought of something. I think the parallel port on those is only for that Axis print server.

All the Axis server does is provide a regular parallel connection through a network interface. If it works with the Axis, it would have to work with parallel cable...

                    Hey Sufie,
I just thought of something... are you using an IEEE1284 cable? A plain parallel cable will probably not work with this, as there has to be a 2 way communication between the printer and the PC.

                        Two things...

                        Canon U.S.A: Support

This is a link to the print driver,, and while researching your issue I stumbled on this information...

"If other print drivers are already installed on the parallel port (LPT1, etc) of the computer connected to this printer, uninstall those drivers, or, select FILE in the port selection dialogue to set them for file output, before installing the Canon iR1510-1670."

Not sure what this is about,, but there must be issues...

                        Good luck!
