    canon IR1600 laser unit problem

    copy quality at one end of paper ( about 5cm ) is very poor. after changing new laser exposure system which has laser unit and 6 facet mirror, the problem is solved. can we repair the laser exposure system, and what part of laser exposure system is affected? plz guide

      You never said if you cleaned the laser mirrors .That is the first thing that I would do b4 i would change it, and yes dirty laser mirrors can effect the copy quality

        yes i have cleaned the mrror, but no result. what will be the cause for affecting the quality of upper side only?

              i was have this problem it is the mirors are not cleaned check and u see the difirence

                Most problems with image quality on this machine involve the Drum and Developer. If Drum has worn edge (yellow, not green OPC coating) on same side as your image problem, or if you remove drum and pull out developer and look at amount of toner on developer cylinder is light or has all of void lines on the side that your image defect is on, than start there. Good luck. Please post your results.
