    iR2200 Wavey lines

Got a good one here and sure do need some help please
    This is an intermitting fault
Could be 1 in 10, or 7 in 10...no reg pattern to the fault when it does it
During testing to repeat the fault i found it would do this more on single copies then doing a run
I have repleaced the drum and still doing it
At 1st thought it was more of a scanner issue and have oiled the scanning rails
(as the fault on on one side)
It does it more when coping from the glass then the H1 doc feeder
Customer is now starting to get alittle upset and would like to sorted
    Any ideas please guys
The attached is from a test chart, and the top is the rear of the machine

    Any HELLLPPPPPPPP please

Is the wavy part lead or trail edge? This may sound silly but have you done a p-print and dc-con clear? I don't know how many strange things this has helped me fix on Cannons.

The waves is on the trailing edge
This also happens if you do prints
(Happened to me when i did a p-print)
I have cleared the DC con and the 1st print of came out wavey
      (Typical)

Done a full HDD format and a system reload to lastest version 45.01

I have ordered a new lamp and new ccd unit
      After that i am well

So if it happens when you do prints, meaning network printing, then you would suppose it would be a internal problem then; Correct?
If you do a P-print then that's internal, correct?
So why would you order a new lamp and new ccd unit
when those components are for the reader unit

          Good point lol
Fully agree with what you said about inernal printing

Reason i have order them is because one of the other techs i work with said they linked to each other. I did question this, as it's didn;t make sense
Understand if there said the reader pcb, but ccd..??? i was puzzled
But at this stage i'm open to any suggestions

Last time I saw image faults like that from print/copy, the problem was electrical noise. A door sensor "chatter" caused wavy faults on one side.
Different model, but looks very similiar. Any error codes for the image processor, laser etc ?

Does it do it on 8.5 x14 paper or R direction paper?

I like Roho's direction on this one... Screwtape has also refined your search,, forget the optics. I had a iR3025 that I could get displaced image,, towards the back of the machine, from engine prints as well as off the glass. Ran Test Pg. 1's,, and the lines kind of resembled a heartbeat on a graph when the problem occurred. I thought it was electrical noise, as all possible mechanical items were ruled out over too many service calls. When I replaced the transfer asm, the entire left half of it, the problem abated. I was convince that something in that asm was causing a spark or ground shot that interrupted the timing of the laser start point.

If you study the prints, the defect is more pronounced toward the bottom than the top. I assume the bottom of the print was to the front of the machine. This was the exact affect I was dealing with on mine... something wierd electrical occuring here.... Maybe your transfer area on the Paper Feeder Assembly.

no problem. Canon Tech support website is usually very helpful, plus I've had this problem before.
