    Canon IR C6800 De-installation

We are a Ricoh dealer and another company wants us to prepare a Canon IR C6800 for shipment. I know someone on here can probably give us an idea on breaking this machine down for shipment. Approximately how long it takes and what needs to be done....so we can give an estimate. I appreciate any input..
    Thanks,
    Cdog

Mosty the developers and toner should be taken out. I would get a service manual if I was you. It does not take long but then again I refering to how long it takes me. If you have never done it before get a manual.

    Good luck.

Just place the entire machine in the shredder,, and hold down firmly on the go button..... sorry,, I just could not resist that..

I feel sorry for the recieving dealer.
If you have never worked with this mchine before, get an authorized canon dealer to do it.

At very least, if has a Finisher, it should be separated from machine. Also, all cables going into machine should be disconnected and all decks/cassette should be opened than closed to drop the lifters. However, if you want to do it the right way and are worried that this machine will start printing rainbows when it is set back-up, then the developers and toners should be be pulled. However, if you've never done it, it will take close to an hour and has a lot of room for error. I would pass on it, because it sounds like you will end up buying someone a new machine.
The glass maybe half full, but less is more...
Printer + Fax + Copier = Jack Of Many Trades,
              but Master Of None
Color Copier = Not A Color Printer
InkJet MFP = Not A Fax Machine
              B/W Copier = Not A Press
Finisher = Deal Closer (salesman, not accessory)
Copier Tech = Admin's Stress Ball (Scapegoat)
