    Possible CLC4040 purchase

    Hi All

In light of the fact the Canon CLC4040 has been on the market for about 4 years and been superseded by a newer model would be wise to get one now? The purchase would be a 5 year lease. Feedback would be helpful as well as recommendations of other models.

    Many thanks
    Paul

Absolutely, they are still good models. 5 years is a long time. How many copies do you do a month? Also keep in mind that this model is business color and not intended for graphic work, though people still use it that way expect more service calls then. Hope a service contract is something your gonna have along with the machine.

Thanks for the reply. We are a publishing house and currently do about 25,000 colour prints a quarter on an iR C3380i. This machine has parts failures on average about every 2 months due to high use and we have a chance to replace it with something more robust. We don't do proofing in house, but previewing colour layout of books is a high priority so we do want a true Postscript 3 machine and I believe the Fiery Controller will provide this. A service contract will be provided with the machine.

      Cheers

IF your after a True Postscipt you might look at the new Advance Image Runner
No longer a emalated PS machine, and it can be ran with a firey if you wish
But being a true PS why would you

          Fantastic colour machine IMO.

have not aged in the way that the equivalent toshiba or C250/350 Minolta Has.

Do you require full PS functionality, In my opinion and experience not any customers do.
