Possible, maybe. But not a good thing to try (can damage machine in long run) and illegal. Do the right thing and change what you're supposed to.

And why would you want to do this, apart from making the machine look "Newer" then what it is

Surely doing that, and making the customers think it's "Newer" then what it is, wouldn't be a good idea.

Older machines have parts that have worn out
And If you have made an old machine look newer then what it is, and it keeps braking down, would be a good advert for your

This is the same as winding back an odometer in a car. Illegal and counter productive.

I think it's been around 3 months since we had one of these questions so we must be due eh...also it IS almost the silly season
