irc3380 "Insert Drum Cartridge (Black)" Message

Hi,

Has anyone had an issue with an irc3380 giving a message "Insert Drum Cartridge (Black)" We have done all the obvious repair attempts and have a good cartridge.

is this a brand new drum unit or a repaired / reconditioned unit?

if brand new u should send it back.

if repaired, just change the chip.

Canon came out with new software to fix this prob. I did 2 today!
It needs to be version 91.xx

I have had similar and it was the rib of the itb coming off and being eaten by the drum units ,there is an ati somewhere.....
