Sometimes with canon m/cs when trying to get the rui to work it says RUI not available , one quick fix is to clear your temporary internet files and cookies and it should
come up for ya!!! if not check to make sure that the rui version is the right version for the version of firmware you have , if its too old it wont work either

Do you try to check your IE version,if it is IE 8 or 9,than you need to down grade the version

Is Canon Canon dias installed on pc .. Driver Information assist service?? comes on printer driver and enables 2 way communication with printer.
It is a tickbox on the driver install and may have been missed
