I am working on a canon ir-2800 copier.
The machine reboots itself or goes off and on for no reason and sometime it stays on receiving fax for a longtime and nothing happens.

Please help.

I faced a similar problem. It has appeared - the power unit 24V astably worked.

In any case it is useful to update device system.

try updating system software,check with a new memory stick and if it stiil locks up, try unpluging the extras..fax boards,print boards,make it plain copier to see if it still acts up and work your way back up with everything ... i try to get my techs to troubleshoot our multi-function copiers this way ,hope it helps
