Canon 2022 jamming....

Hi-I was at this machine new years eve and didnt have time to finish. It was installed this summer. Customer complained of single/duplex jamming, I was able to see it and when I removed Drawer 1 I found the the paper detect actuator from Drawer 2 came was lodged in the back of machine. So put that back and still jammed from drawer 1 but not from drawer 2. Cleaned the pf/sep rollers with d-ink, still jammed. Took out the pf clutch and re-seated-still jammed. Was trying to figure out how to remove the pf assemly but didnt have time, does anyone know how to or has seen this problem? It seems it is slipping, I even swapped drawers but same thing. Thanks

I believe the 2022 is like the 2020, the top section of the machine can be lifted off the 2 paper feed asm's. It is awkward to put back on, so you may need some help your first time around. There are 4 steel straps, 2 in front, 2 in back at the corners of the copier. They are held in place by 8 screws. They physically tie the two sections together. Several connectors in the rear need to be disconnected. Rear cover removal makes everything visible in the rear of machine. As i recall the 2 front straps can be seen with the paper drawers removed. It would be scary for sure, but I have done it 2-3 times. Not something I look forward to!

Thanks! I was out there today and cleaned pf clutch and placed it back in correct position for proper gear mesh. After I did that it worked like a charm. But yeah was thinking that maybe this top comes off, so thanks for the heads up and will know next time.

You're welcome, glad you were able to resolve it, with out having to do a topectomy I really don't like working on these models, I prefer the more robust equipment. Most of the lower end stuff has basically a fax system software, and service mode leaves me cold!! The hardware side of it is just o.k., but leave me out of trying to find much beyond Clear-All for fuser issues...
