ir5070 Error Code -- any thoughts?

    Good morning folks --

Damn cold here in Floriduh... our ir5070 came down with a case of the...

E-000002-0010 error code this am, cannot get past the startup screen. Any thoughts, other than call for service? My employers owe the leasing company 2 tons of cash, so I think I am left out to dry here.

Any thoughts or support would be appreciated.

    Go warm up, ya'll.

your fuser is possibly worn and needs to be rebuilt. It can be reset in service mode, but if you are not a tech you could do more harm than good and cost yourself even more $$$$. You might be able to get a tech to do the work on the side on for you.

    Good luck

Welllll, you should call a tech as it is possible there is actually a heating problem with the fixing assembly. The -0010 part of the code just means you powered off (then back on) the machine without clearing the code first.

You could try to reset the error and just hope it was "one of those things". To reset: enter service mode 1, then - FUNCTION, CLEAR, ERR, Ok. Shut down the unit, then turn it on again. It will either come up, or code again. Another error code means you really need to call someone as there is a "real" issue.

Just a thought, if you don't want to reset code's, what you can do is power on, wait 3 minutes open the front door and close it. If I remember my manual correctly it waits 4(?) min before it gives any fuser codes and open/closing the door resets the timer. That should give it some extra time to reach operating temp.

I found this out the hard way. I was a newbie and troubleshooting a fuser error, I opened and closed the door a couple times and instead of giving the overtemp code because it was well below the 4 min, I blew the thermal fuse and melted the rollers together.

shut the machine off at night time and power it on like DLP suggest in the AM. Although that fuser should get to operating temperature in 30 seconds.

Yeah, one of the selling points for the machine is the short warm-up to op temperature, though I am not that impatient. I didn't pick this machine, but all-in all, it has been good. A few broken fuser driver gears though. Even our tech is a little surprised it has gone through 3 -- thanks for the info!
