Hi Pro, my ir1610 got an error e100 and im not sure what is the msg or the problem is without the ir1610 SM. Can someone guide me how to get rid of the code above?

E100 is the Laser unit problem but in iR1600/2000/1610 normally is the laser unit shutter problem. Try check the laser unit shutter actuator, is it broken?If it is broken, do some modification to it should be working alright.

does ir1600 SM same with ir1610? should i follow ir1600 SM?

ir1600 SM stated as below:

Possible cause: The wiring is faulty (short circuit, open circuit). The laser scanner unit is
faulty. The DC controller PCB is faulty. The drum unit is not installed.

1) Drum unit
Is the drum unit installed in host machine?
NO : Install the drum unit.

2) Connection
Is the connection of the connector (J908) on the BD detection
PCB, connector (J907) of the laser unit, and connector (J102) on
the DC controller PCB normal?
NO : Correct the connection.

3) Laser/scanner unit, DC controller PCB
Try replacing the laser/scanner unit. Is the fault corrected?
YES : End.
NO : Replace the DC controller PCB.

Alan is right .. I think actuator is on the drum on this model .. back left hand side as you look at drum slot .. If drum is roughly fitted it breaks off .. giving e100 .. shutter not opening
