iR 3570/4570 toner not supplying toner to toner tank

    Hi guys,

I have a few machine with these problem. The toner does not supplying the toner to the toner tank (developer unit). No error code indication from the machine. The customer will keep using untill they call the copies are blur. When a field technician despatch to check out is only found that the tank is empty.

To remedy this problem just fill in the toner back to the tank but after couple of weeks the customer will call back for same problem. We have change a DC controller P.C.B but still the same. Any comment ?

Nope they did not ask for toner.(Niether indication from machine ask to add black toner) Customer will copy and print untill the copies are blur. I suspect too the toner bottle is not rotating.

Any way thanks for the comment and wonder where is the sub-hopper ?

Try check the developing assembly toner sensor TS1 in the I/O display mode
        P021-Bit 2 ( 1= Toner remaining, 0= Toner empty)
I came across 1 case where the developing assembly is empty but the in the I/O display P021- Bit 2 show 1.
Solve the problem by replacing the developing assembly toner sensor.

Its located inside rear of the machine behind the where the toner bottle goes.

Just thought I'd post this because I had the problem on an iR2022 and it took me quite a while to figure out. The toner bottle wasn't turning. I thought it was an electrical failure of the toner sensor type, but it turned out that the coupler gear that actually drives the toner bottle was broken. Specifically, two tiny "nubs" were broken off. Of course, it's very difficult to see because there's always toner on it, but even if you cleaned it, it would still be hard to see as they were broken clean off. Just a trace remnant remained, and I didn't know the nubs were supposed to be there.

To make matters worse, at least in my case, Canon was back-ordered indefinitely. After a couple trips back to fill the hopper, I took the gear with me and figured out a way to drill two small holes, and crazy glue in two small (but regular) copier screws and it has held for about five months now.

              Hope this helps.
