    Hello, Canon 5185

    Hello,

    Getting recurring error code: E000007-9902 requesting shutdown. Have the manual "CLC 4040/CLC 4080i/CLC 5151/iR C4080/iR C4080i/iR C4580/iR C4580i/iR C5180/iR C5180i" but it doesn't seem to list a 9902. Closest:
9991 Top belt deviation control timeout error Occurs when operation was not performed normally when COPIER >
    FUNCTION > FIXING > FX-UHP-S was executed.
9992 Bottom belt deviation control timeout error Occurs when operation was not performed normally when COPIER >
    FUNCTION > FIXING > FX-LHP-S was executed.

    Any ideas.

E007-9902 Fixing belt or pressure belt deviation trouble
9902 Abnormal displacement of the pressure belt (Full displacement of the
lower belt, or abnormal condition of the belt displacement sensor)
    Replace the fixing unit.

Thanks so much. 2 follow up questions: How big a deal is this. And secondly, how did you find this info, I didn't find it in the manual I have listed above. Know where I can find it?

how many prints on fix unit ??
u need to remove fixin unit and inspect/ if upper fixing belt is old it will drift off away from sensor arm or the belt has torn/ or u have some broken gears/ gears can be replaced. the 14t gear has bee updated there are two of them /one on fix belt motor assmly- one on pressure belt motor assmly.new gear is FU7-0742-000.
from canon u can buy re- built fixin units.

Hope you have an hour or so if you are going digging around in that fuser assembly expecially without a manual. They can not be rebuilt and to buy one is going to cost you some big bucks. Canon is the only place that rebuilds those units and you have to be a dealer in order to send the unit in for repair.
