    IR C3200 Hard Drive Failure

Hi I need to know what types of hard drives I can stick in an IR C3200 I have the SST and the firmware and I have seen posts stating to a degree how to change the hard drive requriements on the SST software for loading a different hard drive but I need to know the coding for a different hard drive and which one to pick up at the local pc store.

    Thanks for your help

You can use Seagate, Maxtor or any model with 20gb and above. If the HDD model # is not listed on the .ift file you will encounter an error on the SST with the HDD model # listed on it. All you have to do is to edit the .ift file on notepad (if you know where to find it) search the model of the HDD then copy the code on the next line then change the HDD model # with the new one then save.

that is an internal error/ make sure u have only one version of the SST on your Laptop

make sure u select correct firmware for your 3200- is it a C or N boot rom
if u have no Fiery on back u have the N boot rom with Multi Pdl Kit

          First ?

Why are you flashing the 3200?

What version of SST are you using?

          It could be the HDD.

A little tip. The SST can distinguish between N and C When flashing the 3200.

My friend, get a professional tech to check this out for you. You can cause more harm.

If your having booting up issues. Many things can cause this type of problem.

If I understand you, you bought this copier without a hard drive?? What make/model of hard drive are you attempting to load system software to?

On the 3200/3220 series you can get into the (IFT) and put that Maxtor serial number in that file. If you need instructions just do a search for it in this forum.
Accidents don't just happen. They must be carelessly planned.
