Hi,
A few tips that may help.
1. Check Diagram attached I have had same sort of problems due to bushing fitted wrong way round from install.
2. Worth Upgrading all Firmware to latest levels I have had scrambled image and upgrade has cured.
Good Luck,

Shazza is on the right way...there is a hv cable running from the transfer corona unit to the fuser assy...disconnect it and see what happens. if the failure disappears, you have a problem in the fuser unit.If sometimes you feel a little useless, offended and depressed always remember that you were once the fastest and most victorious sperm of hundreds of millions!Comment

There is some strange shit goin' on here for sure. I am not convinced of it being laser though,, some of the image is being inverted and ghosted elsewhere in the prints,,, not sure how a laser can do that,, smells more like something intelligent, like main controller or dc controller..."Once a King, always a King, but once a Knight is enough!"

I know lasers can cause werid image faults. But I'm with Mr fixit. This is something far more than just the laser. This is system related.
I would format then reload firmware, system and DCON first. Then check hardware, like your, laser, main controller,DC.Comment

Nope, your right. Def is laser. See the upside down text? One of the beams is acting up. They either go completely light or flip images upside down. My suggestion would be to call a local authorized Canon dealer because at one point Canon did release free/discounted repaired laser assys. to dealers combat this common issue. Although most of these were allocated to machines they sold/have under contract. You might be able to save a bit. It is not a recall so don't try crying to Canon. Good job troubleshooting! The glass maybe half full, but less is more...
